Robert Bamba, MD
Dr. Bamba received his medical degree from Mindanao State University in Iligan City, Philippines. He completed his post-graduate internship and residency at Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. He also did a pediatric internship and residency at Children’s and Women’s Hospital with the University of South Alabama. Before joining San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics in 2010, Dr. Bamba was clinical instructor at Kingstown Medical College in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, West Indies. He is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Medical Society of Mobile, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association, and the Philippine Medical Association, Iligan City Chapter.
Shawna Young, MD
Dr. Young graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She attended the University of New Mexico School of Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2017. Dr. Young’s Pediatric Residency Training Program took her to the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Sioux Falls.
David Hernandez, MD
Dr. Hernandez completed the University of New Mexico’s competitive combined BA/MD program. He was a UNM Presidential Scholar and received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2013. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2017. Dr. Hernandez completed a residency in Pediatrics at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Hernandez also speaks Spanish. He is Board Certified.

Preston Herrington, MD
Dr. Herrington received his medical degree from University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. Before joining San Juan Regional Medical Center Dr. Herrington was the Medical Director at San Juan Pediatrics. He is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is a member of Christian Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Herrington speaks Spanish as well.
Brenda James, MD
Dr. James received her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of New Mexico Hospital before joining San Juan Regional Medical Center in 2003.

Vijay Linga, MD
Dr. Linga graduated from University of Mysore in India with a degree in Medicine and Surgery. He completed his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, Texas. He has worked in pediatrics and cancer medicine and bench research both in India and the United States. Dr. Linga's professional interests include preventive pediatrics and pediatrics quality improvement. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association. He is Board Certified.
Brad J. Scoggins, DO
Dr. Scoggins received his undergraduate degree in forensic science from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and his doctor of osteopathic medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed a pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Scoggins’ background also includes pre-hospital emergency medicine, life support training, and field work as a paramedic, including his most recent employment with Adair County Ambulance in Kirksville.

Jonathan Palmer, FNP-C, PMHS
Jonathan received an undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico in Spanish and biology in 2003, and from the University of Arizona in nursing in 2006. Palmer attended Northern Arizona University graduate school and graduated in 2011 with a Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He is board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is also a certified Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. Jonathan has also served on the NM state Board of Nursing since 2015. He is fluent in Spanish and really enjoys serving the Spanish speaking community in our area.

Jessica Ann Conklin, FNP-C
Jessica was born and raised in Farmington and attended the University of New Mexico. She graduated with honors in 2007 with a bachelor of science in nursing. She went on to complete her master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University in Independence, Missouri in 2016.
Katie McCrea, CPNP
Katie received her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her master’s degree in nursing education from Grand Canyon University. She received a post-masters certificate as a pediatric nurse practitioner from the University of Colorado, Denver. McCrea is an international board certified lactation consultant, and is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She previously worked in Durango, Colorado.

Meredith Justice, CPNP
Ms. Justice holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Duke, while also working as a nurse in the Pediatric Progressive Care Unit at Duke University Medical Center.
"I always knew I wanted to go into medicine and specifically pediatrics, I have always loved working with children, whether that is in a coaching role, a teaching role or as a medical provider. One of the best parts of my job is getting to know my patients and their families and watching them grow. I love the relationship I develop with each family."
Erin Tinker, FNP
Erin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Master of Science in Nursing from Eastern New Mexico University in Portalis. She went on to receive her Family Nurse Practitioner Post Master's Certificate from Graceland University in Independence, Missouri. Mrs. Tinker has worked at San Juan Regional Medical Center as a registered nurse in Critical Care since 2007, where she also serves as the Clinical Educator. She has experience in the Emergency Department and is an Adjunct instructor for San Juan College's Nursing Program.
