Diabetes Education

As a part of our commitment to build a healthier community, we are offering FREE diabetes education services and group classes. Classes meet once a week for six weeks and cover a wide-range of diabetes topics, or you might prefer to meet individually with a certified diabetes educator to discuss and problem-solve a specific issue. Diabetes classes can cover:

  • Healthy eating
  • Carbohydrate counting
  • Blood glucose testing and pattern analysis
  • Exercising and other forms of movement
  • Foot care
  • Learning about medication
  • Avoiding complications

Making lifestyle changes can help you make informed decisions and enable you to play an active role in managing your pre-diabetes. Lifestyle Balance offers pre-diabetes education and support, focuses on incorporating lifestyle interventions such as losing weight, making more informed food choices, and increasing physical activity to prevent type 2 diabetes or reverse pre-diabetes.
