At San Juan Regional Medical Center, we believe your pregnancy is part of a relationship that begins before pregnancy and continues long after your baby is born. Preparing for the birth of your baby is an exciting and challenging time, and there are many important healthcare decisions you’ll be making. As a Designated Baby-Friendly® birth facility, we support mother/baby bonding and optimal feeding practices. Our dedicated health professionals are with you every step of the way to understand your individual needs and help you and your loved ones plan for this incredible adventure.
We provide spacious, private birthing rooms designed to help you bond with your baby--and your whole family. You have a choice of an OB Physician or a nurse midwife. We offer Jacuzzi tubs in each delivery room for your comfort during labor. We make sure Mom and Baby share the same nurse for continuity of care. And we provide a Level II nursery for babies that need extra attention. We also provide free education classes before and after childbirth to help you through pregnancy and to welcome your new baby, as well as complimentary tours of our Childbirth Center. We invite expecting moms to take a tour with one support person over the age of 18. Tours must be scheduled in advance by calling 505.609.6153 or 505.609.6484.
Pre-Admission
When you pre-admit for your hospital stay, some of the necessary arrangements are made for you in advance. Pre-admission can assist your healthcare team and insurance company to verify your insurance, establish your medical claim, and collect any co-pays you may have. If you don’t have insurance, one of our financial counselors can help you explore your payment options.
Patient registration is located on the main floor of the hospital across from the gift shop.
