As a benefit to our community, the Community Van provides convenient and reliable transportation to adult patients ages 18 and up, free of charge. We are not able to transport children.
At this time, the van will be scheduling rides for San Juan Regional Medical Center and San Juan Health Partners patients. All transports must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance by calling 505.609.2240. Pickup times are Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Who can use the van?
The San Juan Regional Community Service Van provides convenient and reliable transportation to individuals age 18 and over in San Juan County. The van does not transport to dentist appointments or pick up prescriptions.
How far does the van travel?
The van services a 20 mile radius from the hospital and includes Kirtland, Bloomfield, and Aztec city limits.
How much does a ride cost?
There is no charge for the service and drivers are not allowed to accept tips of any kind.
Is the van wheelchair accessible?
The van is wheelchair accessible. Caregivers are encouraged to travel with the patient, however, because the service is “door-to-door” only. This means the client must be able to come outside of the door to their home and be able to get inside the doctor’s office. Drivers will offer assistance to clients down ramps and stairs.

Reservations for the van are scheduled on a first come first served basis by calling 505.609.2240. Please schedule a ride at least 24 hours before an appointment, though availability is not always guaranteed. Appointments are accepted in advance.
About our Drivers
Our drivers are certified in defensive driving as well as Basic Life Support. All conduct, decisions, and priorities are rooted in safety. Safety for the client and driver is the most important element of work performed.
