Kristen Joy Galbreath, CNM
Kristen attended births as a certified doula for ten years before deciding to go to nursing school. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of California, where she gained proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse-Midwifery) from the University of New Mexico, with an emphasis on rural health. Kristen has worked in family practice, as a home visitor, and as a nurse in labor and delivery serving Northern New Mexico families.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nichele R. Salazar, CNM
Nichele is a member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.  She worked as an emergency room nurse while achieving her Master’s degree in Nurse-Midwifery at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.  She recently completed her certificate in nutrition science and policy at Tufts University in Boston Massachusetts. She is currently pursing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Duke University, which will focus on improving communication around nutrition during pregnancy. Nichele currently serves on the New Mexico Maternal Mortality Review Committee and is an American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Liaison on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Committee for American Indian/Alaska Native Women's Health.
