Merrion Oil & Gas is dedicated to doing our part to reduce healthcare costs. One of the strategies we have employed for several decades is preventative care. We work in a smoke –free environment, the company pays for employees to enroll in fitness programs, and safety presentations are a regular part of every quarterly meeting. Our focus is on living a safe and healthy lifestyle.
Needless to say, Full Engagement Training fit very well with our company philosophy. The training was offered to all our employees and most employees jumped at the opportunity to participate. - T. Greg Merrion
The class is all about managing your energy so that you are performing at the top of your game no matter what you do, or who you are, or how fit you are. It’s about how to eat correctly, how to exercise correctly, and how to understand what motivates you. I went into the training thinking I already knew all those things. I certainly thought I ate right and exercised right. The fact is, I did not.
It’s been about a month since we took the class, and I’m slowly but surely getting more fully engaged. One of the most important things we learned is how to change our habits. We learned to build changes into our everyday routine so that they will become a habit. I’ve been eating smaller portions more often each day. I’ve also been doing cardio exercising at least three times a week. I actually set a number of other goals for myself… more quality time with my family, better balance to my life, reading more, etc., which I plan to tackle. However, each habit takes time to reinforce, so I’m tackling them one at a time. I chose eating and exercise first because my cholesterol is high.
The bottom line is that I feel very good and more engaged in everything I am doing. I thoroughly enjoyed the two and one/half day class. I thought it was very well run. The material we covered was interesting and relevant. I really enjoy knowing how to eat and exercise properly, and how to manage my energy. The class has made a very positive difference for me and, based on the rumblings I hear, it’s been very helpful for others in our organization, as well! Who could ask for anything more than a healthy, fully engaged workforce?
