Our Mission
The primary goal of Healthy F.E.T. Kids is to address the health and wellness needs of the traditionally underserved communities, including low-income, rural, multi-ethnic youth and their families. Educating school staff is an effective and efficient way of promoting prevention and improving community health. To educate and empower children and their families with the knowledge, beliefs and behaviors to live a healthy lifestyle.
Goals:
• Increase knowledge of healthy habits
• Adapt healthy beliefs
• Implement positive healthy behaviors
Children need a healthy diet and regular physical activity to support optimal growth and brain development. Poor health in childhood can cast long shadows later in life; consequently, good health, nutrition, and activity throughout childhood are essential for children and for the adults and workers they will become.
With the help of Healthy F.E.T. Kids, children and their families can receive an improved healthy lifestyle curriculum and decrease obesity and chronic disease that is so widespread in our community.
