Monday, April 29, 2013 San Juan Regional Medical Center Sponsors New Fitness Equipment at Aztec’s Riverside Park, Celebrates with May 2 Ribbon Cutting

April 30, 2013 – San Juan Regional Medical Center is proud to sponsor new fitness equipment at Riverside Park, in conjunction with the City of Aztec. As a non-profit organization, San Juan Regional Medical Center supports this project as another way to give back to the community while promoting health and wellness. A ribbon cutting will be held at Riverside Park in Aztec on Thursday, May 2, at 12:00 p.m.

“We believe in health and healthy living. Our dream is that everyone in our area can live a healthy, productive life and are more fully engaged in every aspect of their lives including work, family, or just the things they love to do,” said SJRMC President and CEO, Rick Wallace. “Healthcare doesn’t just happen at the hospital, and it doesn’t just happen once in a while; it happens in our neighborhoods and parks too. By exercising regularly, eating a good diet, and focusing on prevention, we have the best chance of being healthy for life,” he said, in reference to the hospital’s involvement with the project.

The City of Aztec coordinated the equipment location and installation. San Juan Regional Medical Center is pleased to participate with the City of Aztec to help meet community need. The hospital also sponsored fitness equipment that was installed at Kiwanis Park in Farmington in October 2012. Plans for installation in Bloomfield are pending.
