Tuesday, January 10, 2012 A Fair of the Heart and Goosebump Race

February is National Heart Month, during which San Juan Regional Medical Center and San Juan Health Partners Cardiology will host A Fair of the Heart and Goosebump Race, in an effort to educate the community about heart disease and empower them to play an active role in their heart-health.

On Saturday, February 18, at 11:00 a.m., the community can participate in a one mile or 5k race which starts at 407 South Schwartz Avenue, at San Juan Health Partners’ medical office building. Registration is free and can be done online at www.sanjuanregional.com/goosebump.

The A Fair of the Heart health fair will also begin at 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. — inside the medical office building—just steps away from the Goosebump Race finish line. New to this year’s A Fair of the Heart are free community CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training for adults 18 and older. There will also be $15.00 vouchers for lipid panels; free cardiac screenings including baseline EKGs; free blood pressure screenings; and open discussions with San Juan Health Partners cardiologists. Heart-health nutrition, diet information, and education opportunities will also be available.
