San Juan Regional Medical Center Announces Board Changes; Welcomes Janel Ryan as New Member

FARMINGTON, NM (August 20, 2012) – San Juan Regional Medical Center extends sincere gratitude to Paul Deshayes of Animas Credit Union, for his work on the hospital’s  board of directors since 2009. Deshayes most recently served as the 1st Vice Chairman of the board. Deshayes has relocated to Cortez, Colorado where he has accepted a new position. He represented the San Juan Rotary as a corporation member.

We welcome Janel Ryan, Superintendent of Farmington Municipal Schools, as a new board member. She will serve on the audit, finance, and investment committees.

Ryan, who has been a part of the Farmington Community since 1999, has a background in public education and administration. Prior to coming to Farmington, she resided in Truth or Consequences for 23 years, where she served their school district as an eighth grade English instructor, elementary principal, assistant superintendent, and 12 years as superintendent.

Ryan is also an active member of the Better Business Bureau, Farmington Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and United Way. She has served the state as a member of the New Mexico Superintendents Association, the Coalition of School Administrators, and the Cooperative Educational Services and New Mexico Research and Study Council. She was named New Mexico Superintendent of the Year in 2011, and she is currently president of the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Activities Association.
