Friday, December 9, 2011 San Juan Regional Medical Center to host Donate Life Floragraph event in preparation of Rose Parade

Farmington, NM (December 8, 2011) – San Juan Regional Medical Center will host a Donate Life Floragraph event for the family-representatives of Donate Life New Mexico on Wednesday, December 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Floragraph, which is a memorial portrait of an organ donor made of organic materials, will be completed by the Wero family. Their son, Shawn Wero, 32, became a donor after suffering a brain hemorrhage due to a fall. Shawn is New Mexico’s Donate Life donor representative.

     Donate Life of New Mexico will be bringing the Floragraph of Wero to the event at San Juan Regional Medical Center, 801 West Maple Street in Farmington. This event will feature speakers, Suzanne Smith, SJRMC Chief Nursing Officer; Donate Life New Mexico representatives; George Wero, the donor’s father, on living donation and transplant; and Dulcy Sanchez Wero, the donor’s sister.  

     Following the speakers, the Wero family will be honored at this event as they finalize their son’s Floragraph.  The Floragraph will be a part of Donate Life’s Rose Parade Float in Pasadena, California on January 2, 2012.
