Flu Season Visitation Guidelines
Special Visitation Guidelines For Flu Season
San Juan Regional Medical Center has established special visitation guidelines for the flu season. These guidelines are recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the New Mexico Department of Health.
• Please, only well visitors. Anyone who is sick with flu-like symptoms* should not visit patients in the hospital or Emergency Room.
• During flu season, visitors under the age of 14 are discouraged. Visitors under the age of 14 may be permitted for limited visitation in special circumstances.
• Limit of two visitors at a time in patient rooms or the ER. This applies even when the visitors are well, but it does not apply to patients in end-of-life situations.
• If you arrive as a patient and have flu-like symptoms*, please ask for a mask and wear it.
• Visitors are asked to wash their hands before entering a patient room and upon leaving the room. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the hospital in convenient dispensers.
• Patients, visitors and staff are all asked to wash their hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
Please help us reduce the risk of spreading Seasonal Flu and other Viral Illnesses and help us protect our patients.
